It is an ultra-thin, adhesive-backed strip of natural rice paper used as a "bandage" for smoking materials. It is designed to fix:
"Side-burning" or "Running": If one side of your joint is burning faster than the other, you apply the patch to the fast-moving side to slow it down.
Rips and Tears: It seals holes or accidental punctures in the paper without having to re-roll the entire joint.
