We love geeking-out on the old-world practice of hashmaking. We believe that there is no singular “best” extraction method for harvesting cannabis resin, but we are devoted to the methods of solventless mechanical separation that yield what we consider to be the most ‘full spectrum’ concentrates. Each plant and/or growing technique yields a unique trichome with its own properties and characteristics. Some, we find, are best expressed as ice-water extractions, while others are more fit for dry sift processes.
Squishy Scientific’s coins are pressed to limit the amount of surface area exposed to the elements, keeping the concentrate fresh for longer. No supplemental heat is used in pressing, to ensure that the flavor of the concentrate is as close as we can keep it to the flavor of the flower. We also find that by pressing to a coin, the product is easier to handle and less of a spill risk to the end consumer. These make a great bowl topper!
Squishy Scientific has been a family of curious cannabis gardeners by night for years, while running a food cart and small farm CSA venture by day. In the early years, they always managed to pause their day jobs for medical harvests. Those were the times that they came together to help out and celebrate the lessons learned and the end of another run in good company.
By late 2017 they decided that processing was really where they offered something new. They pulled their first water hash bags in 2012 and have tried to keep up with the technological advances of solvent-based and solventless extraction ever since.
